WORLD VISION

At Hillview we encourage each other to look out from home to what God is doing in building His Kingdom in the world.

We support in prayer, and financially, 11 Mission partners, or groups, which range from Gloucester City Mission and Redcliffe College on our doorstep, right across the world to friends in Ecuador serving with Latin Link, partners in Mexico, Tanzania, South Africa, Zambia, Eastern Europe and the Far East.

In the last 2 years we have been greatly blessed as close links to a small group called Mission Possible Bulgaria have developed. 6 teams have gone out to serve alongside these inspiring brothers and sisters, both doing practical work building a women’s refuge and also encouraging the Gypsy churches and children they support. Many of us have supported them from home in practical ways, too. God has wonderfully used this link to bring blessing to our fellowship and encouragement to our friends in Bulgaria.

Each month we have a mission focus in one of our services, sometimes with a live Skype link-up to our friends far away; and each year we have a 'World Vision Weekend' when we have a special focus on a particular area of the building of God’s Kingdom in the world. These have included Africa Inland Mission encouraging us to think about un-reached peoples, Open Doors teaching us about the persecuted Church, and Mission Possible sharing with us their burden for the needy folks in Bulgaria. We also are really fortunate to have Redcliffe College in Gloucester as we are enriched by students from around the world worshipping with us and sharing their calling and burdens with us as they spend their years here studying.

As we see some of the amazing things happening in God’s church far away, we are inspired to pray that God would bring blessing and new life to our own corner of the world here in Hucclecote and England.
