ACCESSIBLE CHURCH

EVERYONE IS WELCOME

We would love to welcome you to Hillview Church where we hope you will find a warm welcome and caring community. We hope this page will help answer any questions you might have about whether our buildings and activities are accessible to you. Inclusion of all is important to us. If you have any further questions or comments then please use the contact form at the bottom of the page to make contact with us so that we can answer any questions you may have.

We have people in the church family who are from all ages and stages of life, some who are wheelchair users and some who are hearing or visually impaired. For those who are housebound or unwell we livestream our Sunday gatherings and some midweek gatherings online via the video conferencing platform ‘Zoom’.

If you attend an activity in person then please be assured we already provide the following :

  • Disabled Parking bays are available in the carpark situated to the rear of the building

  • All external entry points have pushchair and wheelchair accessible ramps where there is not level access and the majority of the building is on one level

NB. A few of the smaller rooms used for children’s activities both on a Sunday and for our toddler group are down a couple of steps. We also have a room used by the young people on a Sunday morning that is up a flight of stairs. Please contact us to let us know if this is an issue as we can arrange to use alternative rooms on the ground floor for any of these groups.

  • We use microphones and speakers at our services and have a hearing induction loop installed in the main worship area

  • Baby change facilities are available in the accessible toilet. We also have a potty and step stool available for use by toddlers in the ladies toilet

  • A smaller and lower children’s toilet is available off our children’s activity rooms. This allows younger children to use the toilet independently

  • We have an inclusive, accessible toilet with grab rails and higher seat which is wheelchair accessible

  • Assistance dogs are very welcome

  • For communion we use gluten free bread and alcohol free wine. We also have dairy and gluten free snacks available after the service
