The Space

What is The Space?

The Importance of Finding Stillness with God.

Jesus beautifully showed us the importance of taking breaks from our busy lives to spend peaceful moments with the Father. The Space offers just that - a chance to enjoy stillness and peace with God. While it's true that we don't have to be in church for this, our homes can often be full of distractions, making it tough to find those genuine moments of tranquillity.

What happens at The Space?

Here’s a general outline of how our gatherings have been structured so far:

10:00 a.m. – Arrive for refreshments and biscuits while catching up with others in the lounge.

10:10 a.m. – Transition to the main church room where we gather as a group, focusing on a visual element (such as a picture or painting) while listening to a Bible passage. This helps us shift our focus from life's busyness to the peacefulness we seek with God.

10:20 a.m. – We then disperse individually throughout the church to allow ourselves to ‘Be Still’ before God. A table is set up with four steps designed to facilitate this time, should you find some structure helpful. Feel free to express your creativity with the art supplies, delve into the Bible, read a book, or simply quiet your mind and sit in His presence.

11:45 a.m. – We gather again for a closing session, where everyone is welcome to share insights regarding what they believe God may have communicated to them. We’ve discovered that these shared reflections can be a blessing to others, but there is absolutely no pressure to say anything at all. We wrap up with a final prayer and leave by 12:00 p.m.

The Space will be held at Hillview Church once a month, on the following Saturdays in 2026:

10 January, 7 February, 7 March,

4 April, 16 May, 13 June,

11 July, 8 August, 5 September,

3 October, 7 November, 5 December

You don’t need to pre-book or let us know you’re coming, but we’d love it if you could arrive promptly at 10 a.m. to help keep things peaceful once our quiet time begins.
